Rules/Scoring

Standard pickem bracket format -- pick the teams that you think will advance, all the way through the final game. Points will be awarded as follows, plus the (seed rank * round):

Round 1: 2 points

Round 2: 3 points

Round 3: 5 points

Round 4: 8 points

Round 5: 13 points

Round 6: 21 points

So, for example, if you correctly guess a 6th seeded team to win a game in Round 3, you would receive 5 base points for the round, plus another 18 points (6 seed * 3 round = 15) for a total of 23 points for that game.  If you picked a 2nd seeded team in that round, it would be worth 11, since it would be 5 base plus 6 for the seed (2 * 3).

• You must have your picks in by tipoff of the games on Thursday and have at least contacted me regarding payment for your picks to be valid. Play-in games do not count.

• There is a bonus for the entry with the best bracket name. There are people all across all walks of life in this pool, including children, that participate in this pool, so please keep that in mind when choosing your name. It doesn't need to be G-rated and innuendo is fine, but please don't make it X-rated.  Also, due to technical shortcomings of the site, DO NOT USE SYMBOLS IN YOUR TEAM NAME. 

• ALL Ties will be broken in favor of the person who guesses closest to the final total score of the Championship Game. In the event a tie remains, it will be resolved via random selection.
